I trained as a Registered Psychotherapist after several rewarding years as a teacher. With a growing awareness of the mental health needs in schools and communities, I entered the Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy program at Wilfrid Laurier University, and soon came to love this work. My therapeutic approaches are attachment based, trauma informed, play based, and spiritually integrated.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change. People I meet with are often processing pivotal moments in their past – moments that have impacted how they see themselves, relate to others, or form their values and beliefs. Sometimes they are in a current pivot point and navigating significant life changes. I support people as they move through these moments.
Some gifts of psychotherapy are to be heard, to connect, and to have your feelings reflected back to you with respect and understanding. I consider it an honour to bear witness to the deep pains and joys of people who are seeking change, wanting to "get unstuck", or perhaps just needing a listening ear and an accepting space to sort through their experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
Pivotal Moments is located on the traditional territory of the Anishnaabe, Haudenosaunee and Neutral peoples. I am committed to ongoing learning about the history of exploitation and oppression on this land, acknowledging how I unfairly benefit from this history as a descendent of white settlers, and seeking ways to live in harmony with my neighbours.
