Compassionate psychotherapy that explores your core values and needs at the root how you cope with life.
Compassionate psychotherapy that explores your core values and needs at the root how you cope with life.
Worry, fear, and despair can begin to overshadow your sense of purpose and hope. We can explore new ways of relating to these "danger signals", understand their role, and reconnect to your values.
After trauma, you may feel on "high alert", disconnected from your body, or unsafe. Through EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches, I help you build "felt safety" and increase confidence to face life's challenges.
You may feel alone or that your grief is misunderstood by family or friends who are eager for you to "get over it" and "move on". I hold compassionate, unhurried space for you to express your pain and explore living with loss.
Change can be disorienting. E.g., relationship, school, or career changes, burnout, becoming a parent, a big move, graduation, or retirement. I help you explore your values and goals as you navigate life transitions.
Sandtray, expressive arts, games, and books are vehicles for children and youth to express their feelings and explore new ways to cope. I collaborate on goals with parents of children and youth (with youth's consent).
I meet with individuals and families who long to improve their relationships. I help you explore the true intentions, emotions, and needs that are often disguised within confusing patterns of hurtful communication.

Pivotal Moments is located on Frederick Street in Kitchener, close to the exits from highway 85/7. There is free parking on nearby side streets, just a short walk from our front door.
Our house-turned-office is shared with a few other private practices. When you arrive for your appointment, come on in, take off your shoes, and have a seat in the waiting area. I'll greet you there and we'll walk up to the second floor.
Our meeting space is designed to invite reflection and spark a sense of safety and peace. It has a roomy couch and armchair, soft blankets, hot tea, water, two large windows, and live plants. It is sensory-friendly with soft lighting and fidget toys available. Toys, games, and expressive arts materials are tucked away nearby to use when words just aren't enough.
Pivotal Moments is located on the traditional territory of the Anishnaabe, Haudenosaunee and Neutral peoples. I am committed to ongoing learning about the history of exploitation and oppression on this land, acknowledging how I unfairly benefit from this history as a descendent of white settlers, and seeking ways to live in harmony with my neighbours.
